Edo 2020: I'm here on a salvage mission, says Iyoha

By Isaac Eranga

Benin City: A Gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the People's Party of Nigeria (PPN), for the 2020 Edo Governorship election, John Darlington Iyoha said  he decided to contest for the post of the governor in order to gain the opportunity of bringing succour and meaning to the people of Edo State.

Mr. Darlington Iyoha said this while receiving a good number of individuals that decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the PPN, at Evbuotubu ward 1 of Egor Local Government Area. He said what made him and members of his team to embark on a salvage mission to Edo State, "was the deadly daily episode of the Mediterranean Sea.

"A telephone call was made throughout Europe, which culminated to a meeting held in Turin, where this salvage mission was instituted.

"Part of our agenda is to champion a populist campaign which will expose to the people all they've been denied for a long time. In doing this, we shall discourage them from accepting money from politicians in order to get their votes.

"We are not intimidated. I am on an ambassadorial mission, representing a good number of people in Europe", the Governorship hopeful said.

Also speaking, one of the decampees, Okofere Chucks, said they decided to decamp because they were not seeing what they were promised by the present government.

"We don't have good roads, we don't have good schools, we don't have good hospital. We want John Darlington Iyoha to come and change the State for us", he said.
