Protests: Edo receives 784,000 litres of fuel as task force set to begin monitoring for distribution, pricing

The Edo State Government has said it is stepping up efforts to find lasting solutions to distribution hurdles and price hikes of petroleum products in the state, noting that the state has received 784,000 litres of fuel, which will be adequately monitored to ensure that the product is not diverted or sold at exorbitant prices to citizens. The Edo State Commissioner for Mining and Energy, Ethan Uzamere, while briefing journalists in Benin City, said the government is setting up a committee to address petroleum product scarcity and price hikes in the state. P4P in the Niger Delta, Edo State chapter elects new Executives

 By Our Correspondent New executives have been elected to pilot the affairs of the Partners for Peace (P4P) in the Niger Delta, Edo State chapter for the next two years. The election which was keenly contested saw Engr. Eugene J. Okoeguale emerged the State Coordinator. He defeated his opponent, Mrs Cynthian Bright Ebiere by 33 to 15 votes. Dr. Mrs. Eniye Omoluru beat her opponent- Comr. Enahoro Isaac, to emerge the Deputy Coordinator; Dr. Isaac Eranga- a journalist,  emerged the Secretary after defeating his opponent Joshua Igometi by 31 to 13 votes. Others are, Pst. WAEC Enrollment: Life Boat Initiative gives scholarship to deserving students

 By Our Correspondent Benin City: Two students of Uwelu Senior Secondary School, Uwelu quarters, Benin City - Courage Queen Onome (female) and Samuel Godspower (male), have been awarded enrollment scholarship to sit for the 2023 West Africa Examination Council's exam (WAEC), which comes up later this year, by the Life Boat Initiative for Societal Development, a non-governmental organization based in Benin City. INTERPOL commences investigation on Canada based- Racheal Eboni Osazee Iyonmana over cyberstalking

 By ISAAC ERANGA The lnternational Police ( INTERPOL) in Alagbon, Lagos has commenced internal and external investigations into a case of cyber bullying, Internet Stalking, defamation of character and  threat to life lodged against one Canada based Racheal Eboni Osazee Iyonmana.  Agbonlahor law firm in Benin city, Edo state lodged the case with INTERPOL on behalf of Becky Igiebor who reported persistent cyberstalking to the law firm by the said Eboni .  As at press time, the officials of the International police (INTERPOL) in Alagbon , Lagos, Nigeria  has stepped up investigation into the incident with a view to  unearth the criminal complains against the  said Eboni.  Statements and other neccessary information have been collected by the Interpol for further investigation .  Report says the interpol in Ottawa , Canada will be contacted immediately as part of the investigation as Canada is one of the signatories in the  INTERPOL formation worldwide .  The Interpol is expected to observ

High rate of insecurity in Nigeria: WANEP calls for more Peacebuilding activities

By Isaac Eranga As a result of the incessant kidnappings, robberies, killings, prevalent in Nigeria, the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) Nigeria, has called on key stakeholders in the development sector to include more peacebuilding activities as part of their core activities in 2023.  This call was made by the National Coordinator of WANEP Nigeria - Chief Mrs. Bridget Osakwe while fielding questions from newsmen in Lagos. Mrs. Osakwe said the high rate of insecurity in most parts of Nigeria is alarming and said only concerted efforts by key stakeholders can help make the nation safe again.
