Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr. commends Journalists over selfless service

He said the journalism profession is an altruistic selfless service to humanity.  Bishop Osagiede who was represented by the Ministry's Director General - Pastor Joseph Blessed Martins Odidi, gave this commendation when members of the  Federated Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, paid him a courtesy visit at the Church headquarters in Benin City. The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, launched the Edo State Residency Identity Card, with a target to issue one million cards to citizens before the fourth quarter of 2024. The governor launched the Residency Card at the 2022 Alaghodaro Summit with the theme, “Edo's Transformation: Partnerships, Resilience, Impact,” taking place in Benin City between Friday, November 11 and Sunday, November 13, 2022. The competition was based on the present school's curriculum approved by the Edo State government. Speaking, the Deputy Coordinator, Egor division of Edo Red Cross- Eboigbe Osawonyi Matt, said the program was aimed at sharpening the minds of the young ones, and also affording the students the opportunity to know about the effect of drug abuse. "The quiz competition covered the students's academic curriculum, and is aimed at encouraging the students to put more effort in their educational pursuit. By Isaac Eranga Mrs Patience Ikpeh-Obaulo of WANEP Abuja: In a bid to addressing the continuous killing of women and children in Nigeria, the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), Nigeria has called for increased networking and collaboration between relevant stakeholders. This call was made by WANEP's Head of Program- Mrs. Patience Ikpeh-Obaulo during a one-day strategic meeting with key stakeholders on women and insecurity in Nigeria, put together by WANEP, with support from Urgent Action Fund Africa for Women's Human Rights, recently in Abuja. She said the aim was to respond to the impact of insecurity on women and girls by eliciting the opinion of prominent Nigerians to champion a national campaign against the killings. "The importance of this stakeholders meeting cannot be overemphasized  because the reports we receive on daily basis about the killings of women and girls in different parts of Nigeria, are disturbing.  "According to data generated from the
