EPIA set to offer pro bono for rape victims Edo progressive Indigenous Association (EPIA),  known as Edo Indigenous movement said modality has been put in place in  providing free legal services to rape and domestic  violence victims in Edo state as well as seeking justice against the perpetuators of the act in the State. This was contained in a release made available by the Edo Indigenous Publicity and Research  Committee (EIPRC). The movement strongly condemned the habits of rape and domestic violence in Edo State and called on the state government led by Governor Godwin Obaseki to brief Edo Indigenes on the measures or actions currently in place by his administration to put an end to curtail the spread of rape in the state.  The movement condemned the rape and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a 22-year-old microbiology student, in a Church in Benin City, Nigeria, and called on the Police to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act. Court of Appeal upholds Oshiomhole’s suspension as APC chairman  By John Chuks Azu  The Court  of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). An FCT High Court had on March 4 granted an application by six members of the APC in Edo State suspending Oshiomhole from office.  A three member panel of justices led by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem held that Oshiomhole’s appeal challenging his suspension was unmeritorious. This is coming on the same day Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State resigned his membership of the APC, after meeting with Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa.
