7 Stoic Principles Every Entrepreneur Must Embrace

Image
Posted by Isaac Eranga Philosophy’s absence from the business world is a crucial mistake. By and large ignored by popular culture and forgotten by the media, modern philosophy has been delegated strictly to the classrooms by its own doing. Rather than adapting to the times, modern philosophers have retreated into an ivory tower of abstract intellectualism and esoteric gloating. Come on guys, you’re giving philosophy a bad name! For those of us who live in the real world, there happens to be one branch of philosophy created just for us: Stoicism. As Ryan Holiday popularized in The Obstacle is the Way , Stoicism doesn’t concern itself with complicated theories about the world, but with helping us overcome destructive emotions and act on what can be acted upon. Just like an entrepreneur, it’s built for action, not endless debate. I’ve recently rebuilt my life and business under these seven guiding principles, or maxims as I like to call them. I consider each elemental in my growth a

WOMEN'S HEALTH - Women Now Need Permission From Men To Get Abortions in US

Image
The ACLU is trying to block a bill that gives men (including rapists) equal say. By Jenavieve Hatch Arkansas legislators clamped down on abortion access even further by passing a law that forces women to have their partners’ permission to access the procedure. A recently-passed bill, H.B. 1566, is a provision under the Arkansas Final Disposition Rights Act of 2009, which states that, in the matter of a person’s death, family members have to agree on what to do with the deceased person’s body. H.B. 1566 includes aborted fetuses into that Act, which means that both the mother and the father of the fetus will have to agree on what to do with fetal remains, thus requiring a woman to tell whoever impregnated her that she’s planning on having an abortion. Both parties will have to agree on what to do with the remains. This law could also apply to women impregnated by abusive partners, and those impregnated after a sexual assault. (For women under the age of 18, the decision about what t

Buhari on life-support machine, says Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the hurried trip to London by First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari was a confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s health had deteriorated, saying that “It is six days since I addressed the press and today, I still insist that the President is indeed on life-support.” Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said the governor, who addressed some journalists in Lagos on Monday, insisted that “The worsen condition of the President’s health necessitated the hurried trip of our First Lady, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari to London and it is hoped that she will have the courage to tell Nigerians the truth this time around.” He said “no one is interested in President Buhari’s death. Rather, we are interested in freeing Nigeria from the hands of these few individuals who are presently holding the country to ransom.” Governor Fayose, who maintained that President Buhari must resign, said; “Today i

One erection is not enough to be a real man

Image
The place of erection can never be overemphasized in the life of a man. In fact, ability to have erection is one of the way people know a 'complete' man. A mother will smile while bathing her 1 month old baby boy if she sees his small penis erected. She is not just smiling at the penis. She's actually smiling because with the eyes of vision she is seeing her grandchildren inside that small erected penis. Inability of any married man to have and sustain erection will pose a serious concern for the wife because it will affect their sexual life & can be a big threat to their child bearing adventure. Erection, what a mighty blessing to mankind! When the word 'erection' is mentioned, what comes quickly to the mind is a penis standing erect. But I want us to see other recommended erections men must have if they will emerge as stars in life & in their marriage. 1. PENILE ERECTION : This is the most common erection. Almost all men have this type of erection. I
