Court slams N2.5m damages on Pastor for trespass By Our Correspondent A Benin High court has slammed N2.5 million damages on a Pastor, Clifford Osawaru for trespassing into a parcel of land in Benin. The court presided over by Justice Ada Ehigiamusoe, affirmed Alhaji Tanko Ileogben as the rightful owner of the land measuring 300 feet by 500 land, situated at plot 36-39 Block K, Evbuoriaria layout in Benin City in a suit Number B/463/14. Delivering judgement on the case between the Claimant, Alhaji Tanko and Pastor Clifford Osawaru (defendant) on Wednesday May 2, 2018, Justice, Justice Ehigiamusoe said the N2.5 million which was met for "general, special and exemplary damages over act of trespass and granted possession of the said land to the Claimant". Okorocha cries out as Ihedioha demolishes monuments, reacts to rumoured arrest by EFCC Immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has cried out over the demolition of some monuments erected by his government in the state, by his successor, Emeka Ihedioha. The former governor has also denied the story of his arrest by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He accused Ihedioha and his new government of being behind the false arrest claim. Less than 24 hours after being inaugurated into office, Ihedioha had begun the demolition of some of the monuments erected by Okorocha’s government in the state, including the ‘Akachi’ (the symbolic hand of God). Media reports on Thursday had also claimed that Okorocha, his wife, Nkechi and the governor’s brother, Okey, have been arrested by the EFCC.
