He said the statement credited to a failed gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Hon. Victor Olabimtan is a deliberate falsehood to incite the people against the government , adding that such  falsehood could only have come from a corrupt and  hallucinating  mind looking for where to offload its frustrations. He said Olabimtan, being an APC member should be conversant with the activities of the Federal government hence, should be able to report accurately, activities of the same government without misleading the public. Rare White Rainbow Spotted in Scotland

Image
A U.K.-based landscape photographer recently captured a stunning shot of a fogbow, a white rainbow, over a moor in western Scotland. Melvin Nicholson told ABC News today that he captured the rare weather phenomenon this Sunday while he was exploring Rannoch Moor near the village of Glencoe. "I had been out in the morning with a friend who said he knew of this beautiful tree, the one in the center of the photograph I took," said Nicholson, 44. When they made it to the tree, he said, he noticed the area was "incredibly misty." "Then the sun started to rise behind us, burning off the mist, and at that point, the fogbow appeared," Nicholson said. "I had never seen anything like it in my 10 years capturing landscape photos around the globe or even in my 44 years of life." Within five minutes, the colorless rainbow disappeared, according to Nicholson. "I knew I had captured something fairly special when I realized how transient it was,"

Nun harnessing twitter to spread her message to the masses

Pope Francis was probably not dwelling on the myriad uses and abuses of social media when he called for a “bruised, dirty and hurting” Roman Catholic church that would more closely resemble the flawed 21st-century world to which it ministers. But, as far as one technologically engaged nun is concerned, the Twitter-sphere is equally deserving of the church’s presence. Xiskya Valladares , a Nicaraguan who lives and works in Mallorca and has more than 32,000 Twitter followers, has just published a book on how the faithful can best use the medium to reach out to people both religious and secular. “Pope Francis himself has invited us to build an outward-looking church that is in dialogue with the world,” she said. “Social networks make that easier: we shouldn’t be bombarding people with religious messages because that will mean we’re only talking to people who already think like us. What we need to do is enter into a dialogue with the world not to impose an idea but to find out what peop

By NICOLE ORAN  There are many mobile applications already on the market that allow women to track their menstrual cycles, either for simple regulation, monitoring purposes, or there are those aimed toward women who are specifically trying to get pregnant. There aren’t many designed for pregnancy prevention. Cycle Technologies has been focused on women’s reproductive health since it was founded by Leslie Heyer in 2002. The company’s newest free iOS app, DOT, which is out today via iTunes, uses Dynamic Optimal Timing technology. It does what the others on the market do as well, but what makes it stand out is that it’s also designed for those who don’t want to get pregnant. They might not be using contraceptive methods for various reasons but still want to be proactive about monitoring that risk. When a woman uses DOT, she can specify from the beginning what her g

The Biblical Fashion

Image
The authentic garments of the bible Almost all ancient Israelites wore two basic items of clothing: an undergarment and an overgarment. The light bottom layer was a tunic known in Hebrew as a kutonet (כתנת ). The Bible says that Jacob raised the ire of his sons by making Joseph a kutonet pasim (Gen. 37:3). Four hundred years ago, the King James Version of the Bible translated this as “a coat of many colors,”, but really, it is quite a bad translation of the original Hebrew. The garment is not a coat, but a linen tunic. It is striped, not multicolored. Moses – A Master of Words Above the tunic, a heavier outer layer was worn. This cloak or mantle is known in Hebrew as a mitpachat (מטפחת ). This word comes from the verb “to spread out” (טפח ) because often this garment could also be unfolded to serve as a blanket or a sack. In one of the most famous love stories in the Bible, Boaz tells Ruth: “bring the cloak you are wearing and hold it out.” He then fills the open cloak with “six me

Health tips: causes of kidney disease

Image
*1. Stop delaying going to a toilet.* Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage. The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine refluxes back to the urether and kidneys, toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and nephritis, plus uremia. When nature calls do it as soon as possible. *2. Eating too much salt.* You should eat not more than 5.8 grams of salt daily. *3. Eating too much meat.* Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin that is very destructive to your kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage. *4. Drinking too much caffeine.* Caffeine is a component of many sodas and soft drinks. It raises your blood pressure and your kidneys start suffering.
