SWAN to donate trophy in honour of late Sports Writer

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) is to donate a trophy to the Delta State Chapter in honour of the late Sports Journalist, Timi Ebikagboro.

National President of SWAN, Honour Sirawoo made this known during a condolence visit to the family of the late Ebikagboro at his residence in Jeddo, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Represented by the Zonal Secretary of SWAN in the South South, Ben Ogbemudia he described the late Ebikagboro as a Seasoned and blunt Journalist who never shied away from demanding for Justice wherever he found himself.

He promised that SWAN would take active part in the funeral activities of the veteran Sports Writer.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Delta State SWAN Chairman, Azuka Chiemeka, his counterparts from Edo and Bayelsa Ahmed Aigbona and Alambo Datonye respectively and a Staff of the Sports unit of Delta Broadcasting Service Victor Onajero Gbogidi.

Responding on behalf of the widow, Dr. Mrs Olayinka Ebikagboro and family member, Blessing Ogunli thanked the National and Zonal Leadership of SWAN for commiserating with them.

Earlier the SWAN delegation was at the Delta State Broadcasting Service Warri where it was received by the Head of News and Current Affairs, Dr. Godwin Orhadhakwe and staffers of the organisation.
