Pastor Ize-Iyamu, in a message released by his Campaign Organization, expressed sadness at his death and extolled his ‘selfless and patriotic’ service to the country.

He said: “Abba Kyari was a patriot with a rare dedication to country and duty. He spent most of his life in service to Nigeria and applied himself relentlessly, in both private and public office, to the important task of translating his vision of a great Nigeria that works for all into reality.”

“His loss is no doubt a huge blow to the country, even more so to our President, Muhammadu Buhari, who found in the late Abba Kyari a confidant, friend, and capable hands to entrust important duties in the quest to take the country to the next level”
