Kidnappersp kill Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Ministry Workers in Edo

Two staff of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Ministry, Lagos have been kidnapped and killed by some suspected violent kidnappers in Edo state.


The deceased, Basil Odoji and Innocent Udeh were driving through the Benin Bypass near Ahor in Edo state when they were abducted and forced into the forest.


The suspected hoodlums later demanded for N20 million ransom to effect their release.


At a point during the ransom negotiation, the lines of the victims were no longer reachable and the family members were unable to speak with them.


A situation which forced the police to move into the area for tracing and combing.


During investigation, one 23 year old man, Abdullahi Lawal was arrested with the mobile phone of one of those killed, Innocent Udeh.


The said Lawal named one Abdullahi Usman as the man who gave him the mobile phone. Usman was also arrested.


Both suspects later admitted before the police that they kidnapped and killed the two persons.


According to a report sourced by crime reporter, Festus Alenkhe , the suspects admitted that, they killed the two persons because they wanted to escape from their custody.


Three other members of the kidnapping and killers squad were later arrested. They include Abdulkadir Mohammed, Musa Lawal and Bello Umar. They however took men of the Anti Kidnapping Squad of the Edo state Police command who effected the arrest to Ahor forest at the Benin Bypass where the bodies of the two church workers were recovered.


The decomposing bodies were then put in body bags where it was deposited in the mortuary.


The Edo state Police Public Relations Officer , DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said the suspects will be thoroughly investigated to ascertain the number of persons they have so far killed as they were described as serial kidnappers.
