Edo 2020 LOC: Edo Referees boss hail Obaseki over appointment of immediate past Chairman

Benin City: The Chairman of Edo Football Referee Council, Mr. Johnbull Nosa Okundolor has commended Gov. Godwin Obaseki over the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the Council and National Vice President 1 of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NRA), FIFA Faith Irabor as member of the Local Organising Committee for the National Sports Festival, tagged Edo 2020.

Mr. Oknudolor made this commendation in Benin while commenting on the state of football in Edo State. He said the inclusion of FIFA Faith Irabor will boost sports development in the State in particular and Nigeria in general, describing it as round peg in round hole.

"FIFA Faith Irabor is an astute Sports Administrator and a CAF Match Commissioner that has made Nigerians proud, especially in international outings. Her integrity and transparency while she was still active as a football referee endeared her to many who now sees her as the emerging hope of Nigeria football.

"When FIFA Faith contested for the post of National Vice President 1 in NRA, she defeated two other person's; one a Police pay master and the other one, a professor. This is to show the level of trust Nigerians have on her. That was also transliterated in the Edo Football Association Boarrd election where she was elected 10/10 to represent Edo South as first member in the Board", said Mr. Okundolor.

The referee boss also used this medium to inform the public that a FIFA badged referee in the State and the State Training Officer, FIFA Efosa Celestine will join FIFA badged referees from other African countries to officiate in the coming All African Games, bid to take place in Morocco. He urged the public to pray for him as he is going there to make Edo State proud.

"The inclusion of FIFA Efosa Igudia among referees to officiate the All African Games is another feat for Edo football. We are proud of him and we believe he will deliver and make us proud", he said.
