"Buhari accepted second term as a call to service", says APC

BENIN CITY: The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo state chapter, said the recent declaration by President Muhammad Buhari to go for second term as President of Nigeria was as a result of the President's determination to render more service to the people.

This was disclosed by the Publicity Secretary of Edo APC, Mr. Chris Azebamwan. Mr. Azebamwan said the APC faithfuls and critical stakeholders know that President Buhari has done very well and that there are more to be done. He described President Buhari as APC's focal sales point.

"Every product has focal sales point, Buhari is APC's focal sales point. Buhari has succeeded in bringing security under control. Security situation in Nigeria has been stabilized, while activities of Boko Haram curtailed. When Buhari took over the mantle of leadership, Boko Haram was occupying two States, but today, is no more  so.

"Buhari has also improved the Nigerian economy by fighting corruption and reducing it to the barest minimum. Now people are no longer afraid to do business in Nigeria; investors are now confident in putting their money into the economy. This in turn, has helped create job opportunities for the people.

"Elections done in the country since Buhari took over as President, has been adjudged free and fair by both local and international election observers.

"In the are of job creation for youths, the President introduced the N-Power programme for both graduates and non-graduates. The programme has already absorbed more than 200,000 youths, about 3,000 youths will soon be mobilized for the second batch", said the Edo APC Spokesman.

Mr. Azebamwan said President Buhari was able to fight corruption and published the names of looters because he was never accused for looting or for any corrupt practices. He said before coming back, President Buhari will declare his asset. Azebamwan said with the asset declaration, it will be revealed that there is no significant increase in his material belongings. He said Buhari's personal lifestyle has not changed since he became President. He quoted Buhari as saying, "I came to this world with nothing and I will leave with nothing, so why should I steal".

The APC Publicity Secretary urged Nigerians both within and outside the country to support President Buhari second term, saying Buhari is the man of the moment, the man that is needed in this time and this season.
