Benin Christian Community prays for the Oba of Benin

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II has called on the people to keep faith and hope alive as the trying moment would soon be overcome.

The Benin Monarch made the call in his palace when the Benin Christian Community held a special prayer session to end the 2018 Universal Week of Prayer.

Oba Ewuare II described the prevailing cases of kidnapping, human trafficking and insecurity as temptations to test our faith, and admonished the people to be closer to God.

The Omo N’Oba noted that the modest achievements recorded so far in Benin Kingdom was due to the power of God and the Ancestors; pointing out that he recognises the important role of prayers in rulership.

The Oba of Benin Commended the Chairman and members of the Benin Christian Community for organising the prayer session and urged them not to relent in praying to God to grant the nation’s leaders at all levels wisdom and the ability to lead the people on the path of peace, unity and progress.

In an address, the Chairman of the Benin Christian Community and Spiritual leader of Christ Chosen Church of God, Most Snr. Apostle Joshua Osasuyi saluted the Omo N’Oba for his excellent performances within the short period he has been on the throne of his ancestors, noting that security and tranquillity have been restored in all the communities in Benin Kingdom.

The clergy however expressed worries over the increasing rate of insurgency and criminal activities in the society and called on the nation’s political leaders to lead with the fear of God and to be people friendly in governance.

In a short exhortation, Rev. Dr. Godspower Ogbonmwan described the Oba of Benin as the messiah that has come to save his people, adding that divine restoration has come to the people.

He admonished the people to cooperate with God in order to benefit from God’s glory which will soon manifest in Benin Kingdom, assuring that the glory of Benin Kingdom will reach its highest peak under the reign of Oba Ewuare II.

Rev. Ogbonmwan told the people to worry no more as God had released them from the Goliath in Edo State and indeed Nigeria.

Special prayers were offered by Apostle F.I. Ehioba, Most Rev. A.O. Obarisiagbon, Rt. Rev. Dr. Osama Usuanlele, Most Rev. A.I.T. Noju and Rev. Olu Aderibigbe for peace, unity, progress, protection and well-being of the Oba of Benin, members of the Royal family, Chiefs and entire people of Benin Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Oba Ewuare II has enjoined the management of Coca Cola Company to continue to expand their business in the state and endeavour to carry the people of their host community along in terms of employment and other social responsibilities.

While assuring the management of Coca Cola of Palace support and encouragement to do their business in Edo State, His Royal Majesty called on them to key into activities of Oba Ewuare II Foundation with the view of assisting it to achieve its objectives.

Earlier, the Chairman of Board of Nigeria Bottling Company, maker of Coca Cola, Ambassador Segun Akpata said they were in the Palace to express profound gratitude to Omo N’Oba for his intervention and resolution of the problem Coca Cola Eyaen had with its host community.

Ambassador Akpata said the board has decided to expand the plant at Eyaen, with the view of expanding its business operations in Nigeria.

He commended the Oba of Benin for his purposeful leadership in the Kingdom and wished him many more years on the throne.
