Olulade Lauds Gbajabiamila’s Donation of Ambulances, Health Centre • Urges Individuals to Support Govt in Provision of Qualitative Healthcare

The Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health Services, Hon. Segun Olulade on Tuesday, commended the member representing Surulere Federal Constituency I, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, for donating a primary health centre and ambulances to some hospitals in Surulere.

Olulade, who gave this commendation during an oversight to Randle General Hospital, Surulere and some Public Health Care Centres in the area, also called on well-meaning Nigerians to complement efforts of the government in providing qualitative health care services to the citizens.

The lawmaker, who noted that the state government alone would not be able to attend to all the challenges facing the health sector, pointed out that “the task of providing standard health care services that everyone will be proud of anywhere in the world should not be left in the hand of the government.

“Government needs support from of well-meaning people. It is heart-warming that a Federal lawmaker, Hon. Gbajabiamila donated ambulances and primary health centre to the people.

“The state government has spent so much for the health sector. This current administration has budgeted huge fund for the development of health care services but it will be better if philanthropists complement government efforts.

“I want to commend Hon. Gbajabiamila for this great gesture. This shows that he cares about the health and welfare of the people he is representing. With this gesture, he has also complemented the state government’s effort.

“I am calling on well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Hon. Gbajabiamila and support the government in the provision of qualitative health care,” Olulade said.

He also urged philanthropists across the state to save lives of people by investing in the health sector, just as he added that public-spirited individuals could provide some basic facilities to complement government efforts.

While urging health workers to be dutiful and efficient in the discharge of their mandate to the general public, the lawmaker said that the state government was committed to the development of health sector to meet up with the standards obtainable in the developed climes.

According to him, arrangements are in the pipeline not to only provide more facilities but also to engage more doctors, nurses and other health workers to boost healthcare service delivery in the state.
