How herdsmen hacked colleague to death in Ogun

The Nigerian police has confirmed the killing of a herdsman at the Itadodo area of Ofada in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun state.

The Ogun state police command said the herdsman was killed by two of his colleagues in the area.
Speaking on the incident, the state command spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects – Abdulahi Anaruwa and Mohammed Suleiman- hacked their colleague to death while trying to steal his cattle.

Garuba Mohammed, the police said was killed on Tuesday, October 28, in the gateway city. Garuba was grazing his cattle in a bush when the two suspects lured him into a nearby bush and hacked him to death.

The police said the suspects ran out of luck when a motorcyclist passing by saw them and alerted the people of the area. He said that was when the police was called into the matter.
Oyeyemi also said that after the call, the divisional police officer of Owode Egba Division of the command, Sheu Alao, led his men to the scene and the two suspects were arrested.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation,” Oyeyemi said.
“The CP further warned that crime and criminality will have no place in Ogun State and that those who are hell bent in committing crime will have the ever ready police command to contend with,” he said.
