2019 General Elections: PDP members in diaspora wants Atiku to deploy his experience to rescue Nigeria

Benin City: Peoples Democratic Party, United Kingdom (UK) chapter, at the weekend, called on the winner of the just concluded party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to bring to bear his wealth of experience as former vice president to rescue the nation from the economy doldrums if elected president in the forthcoming presidential election.

This was contained in press statement signed by its interim chairman, Mr. Osahon Igiebor and nine others and made available to newsmen in Benin City.

According to him"A big congratulations to the Waziri of Adamawa, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar for his emergency as the flagbearer of great party, Peoples Democratic Party. Your selfless service to your fatherland has not gone unnoticed and here finally is your chance to bring prosperity to our nation and succour to the masses.

"We are confident that you can bring to bear your wealth of experience as the country's former vice president and also your experience in the business world,to facilitate a quick and effective recovery of our ailing economy under the APC"

Igiebor while commending the leadership of the party for conducting a peaceful primaries across the states which eventually saw to his emergence as the presidential flagbearer of the party, said the willingness of other  co-contestants to work together with the winner to rescue the country from total collapse showed a high level of maturity of the party members.

"We want to congratulate all the aspirants for the sportsmanship shown before, during and after the whole exercise. The level of maturity shows that the party now parades the calibre of leaders who can rescue our ailing country from the desperate grip of the APC who are draining and bleeding the country dry in its entirety", he said.

The interim chairman further said the international community must be alerted in order to keep an eye on the ruling party and the INEC to ensure free, fair and credible election and its winner declared accordingly to avert what happened in some parts of the states in recent time.

"This is to alert the international community that going by the recent shenanigans of the ruling party and the compromised INEC, all efforts must be made to prevent a reoccurrence of what happened in Ekiti and Osun States, especially in Osun where what can only be classified as day light robbery of mandate transpired.

"These are echoes of what we suspect might be in the plans of the APC.

"We are calling on the whole world to take note so as to prevent the subversion of the will of the Nigerian people", he said.

Other members are, David Francis Okoro, Daniel Jayeola, Pastor Austyn Komon, Duke Chidi Nwafor, Nora A. U. Roberts, Mrs Judith Edewor, Timothy Ero and Edwin Igiebor Jackson.
