Driving requires total concentration. Every driver should know the
basic rule and regulations guiding driving. This is necessary in order
to ensure good driving culture.

1. Taking off:
Ensure that the gear is in a neutral position (Parking if
Automatic). Ensure that all the mirrors are functional. Adjust
steering, seat, head rest, mirrors especially if not familiar with the
vehicle.

Observe the mirror and ensure that the road is clear.
Fasten your seat belt and take off smomthly.

2 - Braking:

Never get too close to the vehicle in front. Be mindful of the vehicle behind.
To slow down, brake smoothly and in a controlled manner. Sudden
braking could result in loss of control. Always try toi brake gently
and in plenty of time.

3 - Reversing:

Before you reverse, make sure that there are no pedestrians
particularly children or physically challenged persons or physical
obstructions on the road behind you. Be care about the blind area
behind you, that is that part of the road you cannot see from the
driving seat either through the mirror or by looking backwards.

8-) While reversing
At night, always put your headlight off while reversing. Ensure
that your rerverse light is workink. You may switch on your HAZARD
lights.

:) Persons reversing are liable for any obstruction or crash which
they might cause:
;> Do not reverse:
(i) from a side road into a major road
(ii) at a bend or a crest of a hill
(iii) on the expressway
(iv) on a bridge
(v) on a busy road (high volumn of traffic).
