Edo CNPP tasks Obaseki on security

The Chairman of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Edo State chapter has called on the Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to establish Neighbourhood Security Agency (N. S. A) and to summon stakeholders meeting to tackle the security situations in Edo State.

This was contained in a letter jointly signed by the Chairman, Prince Roy Oribhabor and the Secretary, Engr. Marvelous Imasuen.

The letter reads thus: "We write to bring to your notice the level of security in Edo State.  The security situation in our dear state is gradually unfriendly and worrisome. The continuous Molestation, Harassment, Kidnappings and intimidations of our law abiding citizens is unacceptable because Edo people can no longer sleep with their eyes closed.

"Mr Governor, you will recall that on March 16, 2017. The immediate past Chairman of Etsako-East L G A was gruesomely murdered along BENIN -AUCHI ROAD and the Chairman's car was stolen on Feb. 2017. On March 31.2017 The beloved wife of Hon. Vincent Uwadiale was kidnapped with her two children. This is to mention but few.

"Edo CNPP is seriously worried about this wicked development in our society. Therefore, it has become pertinent to call on you to as matter of urgency establish Neighbourhood Security Agency(N S A)  to tackle this trend of wickedness and also summon stakeholders meeting.

Finally, we appreciate you in your efforts in collating reliable data of our unemployed Youths in the State as posited by us when we paid you a courtesy visit".

There is no iota of doubt, irrespective of political differences, that Governor Godwin Obaseki has significantly improved State Competence, relative to his predecessors and across the States in the Country.  To achieve this, he had to rescue the State from private capture by ruthless non-State actors; this freed up public resources for public purposes.  He has held himself to a very high ethical and work-ethics standards, scrupulously focusing on the interests of the real people whilst staying on the Constitutional tracks in line with his oath of office.
