Goodluck Jonathan Support Groups Promise Him 7 Million Votes In The South West

A coalition of registered groups for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to deliver seven million votes for the president in the South West region of the country in the March 28 presidential election.
The coalition, which comprises over 40 registered groups under the Goodluck Support Groups, GSG, made the pledge on Saturday at a rally in Akure, Ondo State capital.
The rally was attended by members of the coalition from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states.
Chairman of the coalition, Banji Omotoso, said every legitimate step would be taken to ensure that President Jonathan gets over seven million votes in the South West region.
Omotoso, who is South-West Coordinator of the Campaign for Transformation Agenda, CTA, stated that President Jonathan had done well for the country that he deserved to be re-elected and continue his transformation agenda.
He said: “Recently, the news was on CNN where the infrastructural development of the Jonathan government was adjudged among the best ten in the World. The transformation of our national economy from crude oil to agriculture-based is on course.
“The huge investment in research and development as well as in military equipment cannot be over-emphasised. The government has performed excellently in road construction, railway development, airport re-modeling and modernization and electricity supply.
“Between 1999 and 2007, only two universities were established in Nigeria (one for a former President and the other for his vice). But in less than four years, President Jonathan has established well over 30 universities throughout the country. The establishment of Almajiri schools, which no past Nigerian government ever thought of, should also be applauded.”
