Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr. commends Journalists over selfless service

The General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church - Bishop Gordon Osagiede Jr., has lauded Edo Journalists over their selfless service to the people of Edo State. He said the journalism profession is an altruistic selfless service to humanity. 

Bishop Osagiede who was represented by the Ministry's Director General - Pastor Joseph Blessed Martins Odidi, gave this commendation when members of the  Federated Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, paid him a courtesy visit at the Church headquarters in Benin City.

"We know all the risks and the dangers journalists are exposed to on a daily basis. It's your selflessness that has kept you in the profession. May the protection of God continue to be your cover. 

"You are the voice of the voiceless. We need journalists in our nation that will stand the gap and speak the voice of the people, and that is what you are already doing. We are grateful to have you here. 

"We like to condole with the NUJ Chairman -  Comrade Festus Alenkhe over the demise of his mother. We pray God to grant him and his siblings the fortitude to bear the loss", he said.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Federated Chapel - Comrade Mercy Onyenwenli, said Federated Chapel comprises journalists in the print, electronic and online media. She said the present executives of Federated Chapel came on board on August 24, 2022.

The Federated Chapel boss extolled the spiritual leadership qualities of late Evangelist Dr. Mrs. Eunice Osagiede. 

"She was a mentor, meek, and known both within and outside Nigeria for her gospel of evangelism.

"However, we take solace in the fact that she nurtured and raised a champion that took over from her. She was indeed a mother and a repairer of broken homes.

"Federated Chapel will continue to provide adequate media coverage for the major activities of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church", she said.
