"You represent the kind of model leadership people want", Nigeria Crimeview tells Festus Alenkhe

The Nigeria Crimeview and Sensitization Against Hazard and Crime Initiative (SAHACRIN) said the election of  Festus Alenkhe as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), will help reinforce the confidence of Edo people in journalism. The group said it was a good development for the advancement of democracy in the media circle.

This was contained in a congratulatory letter signed by the group's Executive Director- Princes (Mrs) Imade Kathy Umoru. According to Kathy Umoru, the victory is a confirmation of both the perfect will of God and the irrefutable choice of members of Edo NUJ. 

"We of the Nigeria Crimeview and Sensitization Against Hazard and Crime Initiatives celebrate your victory in the just concluded Edo NUJ election where you emerged as Chairman elect. Your emergence as Chairman is a multi-level and monumental one and it did not come as a surprise to many.

"You represent the kind of model leadership people want, which is transparent, committed and competent. It is time for Edo NUJ to rise up and support you.

"People in Edo State are now aware of crimes and safety tips because of your contributions to all and we shall continue to support your administration by active collaboration with you and the entire NUJ", Princes Mrs Kathy Umoru said.

The Nigeria Crimeview is an Initiative Against Hazard and Crime Sensitization, and is meant to boost the integrity of the Nigeria Security Agencies as well as bridge the gap between the civil populace and the security agencies. It is made up of Special Patriotic Volunteers as special task force. Their duty bothers around surveillance and intelligence gathering/sharing.
