Edo Football: The welfare of our Referees shall be our top priority in 2022, says Okundolor

Benin City: The Chairman of Edo Football Referees Council- Mr Johnbull Nosa Okundolor said the welfare of Edo Football Referees was  number one in the list of goals set out for 2022. 

Mr Okundolor disclosed this in Benin while fielding questions from Journalists as part of his New Year message. He said though the Council had contributed in the past, to the welfare of Edo Referees, in 2022, the Council would intensify its effort in that direction.

"The welfare of our Referees can never be compromised because it will help boost their morale as they go out to officiate matches, thereby becoming worthy ambassadors of the Council.

"The training programs shall be improved upon so as to gain 100 percent success in all the National Fitness Tests to be conducted in 2022. 

"Capacity building is also one of our goals in 2022. We shall encourage our Referees to train with football clubs in their various locations, so as to build their capacities. 

"I want to use this medium to thank all members of my Exco for their cooperation so far. I'm not leaving out the Vice President 1 of the Nigeria Football Referees Association- FIFA Faith Irabor (rtd.), CAF/FIFA Training Instructor- Sir (Engr.) Emmanuel Imiere, FIFA rtd., and the Elders in Council, for their moral support.

"I want to use this medium to congratulate the Chief Medical Director of UBTH- Professor Darlington Obaseki, on his 54 years  birthday. He is in the fore front of football development in Edo State", the Referees Boss said.
