EPIA appoints Festus Mayaki as Acting Vice President, Edo North

Benin City: Mr. Festus Mayaki has been appointed the Acting Vice Chairman, Edo North for Edo Progressive Indigenous Association (EPIA), also known as Edo Indigenous Movement, worldwide, to represent the interest of Edo North senatorial district in EPIA/EIM worldwide.

This appointment was announced by the President and Edo Indigenous Leader, Chief Dr. Bishop Omogiade Enoyiogiere Edokpolo on Monday 1st March, 2021 in Benin City after a meeting with leaders of Edo North and Edo Central of the association. Chief Omogiade Enoyiogiere Edokpolo highlighted that the role of the newly appointed Acting Vice president is to mainly coordinate EPIA's activities of the Edo North Indigenes around the world.

"As the Acting Vice President Edo North, you are to act in line with the constitution of EPIA and make it a point of duty to put the interest of Edo North indigenes first. You are to act as an interface between the indigenes of Edo North in EPIA/EIM worldwide.

"You are to assist the president to coordinate the activities of EPIA among the Afemais, Etsako, and Owan people around the world . We expect you to initiate  programs that will be beneficial to the indigent people," said the EPIA Leader.

Speaking, Mr. Festusy Mayaki promises to adhere to the constitution and to make sure that the interest of Edo North indigenes will be placed above self. He assured that he will discharge his duties without biased and prejudiced. Comrade Festus Mayaki thanked the President of EPIA for finding him worthy o be appointed to such lofty position.

Also appointed are Ms Kehinde Udazi who is to serve as EPIA representative in Akoko-Edo, and Mrs Alinatu, EPIA's representative in Afemai
