Edo Referees Council commends FIFA Efosa for retaining badge

The Edo State Football Referees Council has commended the State Training Officer, FIFA Efosa Celestine Igudia for retaining the highly coveted FIFA badge. This was contained in a press release signed by the State Chairman- Mr. Johnbull Nosa Okundolor and the State General Secretary- Mr. Roland Temigbe and made available to newsmen in Benin City.

The release had it that the Council received with joy the excellent performances of Efosa Celestine Igudia in the 2019 FIFA fitness test and the various CAF and FIFA organised matches he officiated, saying it's a feat worth celebrating.

"We want to thank the world football governing body for giving our ambassador- Efosa Celestine Igudia the opportunity to prove his prowess. Since he was first badged as a FIFA referee, he has not relented in improving his training programs.

"Being the elected training officer, FIFA Efosa has tried in improving the training program of the State Council; all our Premier League referees passed their fitness test and more grade one referees have been harvested. A female referee, Peace Ikerebe won the 2019 best female referee award, awarded by the Pan-African OnlineJournalists Association (POJA).

"Our advice for FIFA Efosa Celestine Igudia is that he should not relent in improving the training program of theEro Referees Council. We also urge him to mentor younger referees that will take over from him when he retires," the release said.
