Reacting to the arrest and detention  of Chief Patrick Eholor in Lagos by the operatives of the Lagos state police command, Edo indigenous leader and president of EPIA- Chief Dr Omogiade Enoyiogiere Edokpolo said it was an abuse on the fundamental human right of the rights activist whom he described as a peace advocate.

Chief Patrick Eholor, aka Ultimate Equal

“Verbal apologies are not enough to assuage the pains and humiliation meted out on Chief Eholor by men of the Lagos State Police command, we deserve written apology to proof that the police was really sorry for what they did to Chief Eholor.

“Mr Odumosu should have given a written apology instead of the verbal apologies he had given to Chief Eholor, over the barbaric acts meted on him and destruction caused to his personal assets, by his men before he was detained for hours at a Lagos police station before he was released.

Eholor, more known as “Ultimate Equals,” encountered the Lagos policemen and other security agents during a peaceful protest marking the first anniversary of the alleged killing and maiming of protesters at the Lekki- Lagos Tollgate.

EPIA was established to empower Edo indigenes worldwide, with membership sprawling round various countries of the world. EPIA has succeeded in promoting the cause of the vulnerable a in the area of rape, gender based violence, etc.
