Edo 2020 Gubernatorial Election: P4P tasks Politicians on Electoral Act

Benin City: As the 2020 Edo governorship election draws close, Partners for Peace (P4P) in the Niger Delta, Edo State chapter, has called on political parties, party stalwarts, party loyalists, to adhere to the 2010 Electoral Act, in order for the election to be peaceful and violence free.

This call was contained in a press release signed by the state coordinator- Barr. Agatha Osieke and made available to the Nigerian Observer Newspaper.

The release called on all Edo  youths and adults to shun violence at this critical time of electioneering.
"Edo people, let us be wise, maintain peace, and go about our normal businesses, not allowing anybody or groups to use us to cause more pains and hardships especially in this present Covid-19 pandemic period because of election.

"The unity, stability, progress and development of Edo State is more important than anything else. Therefore, we must continue to be calm and peaceful.

"Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta, is a notable peace network which stands for peaceful behaviour during all the electoral processes in the State; starting from the party primaries to the announcing of results of the governorship election, even beyond", the release said.
